About this exercise

Resistance Band Leg Curl is a hamstring isolation exercise performed lying prone with a resistance band anchored at one end and looped around the ankles. It replicates the lying leg curl machine movement using only a band, making it accessible for home and travel workouts.

How to Perform

  • Anchor a resistance band to a sturdy fixed object at floor level and loop the free end around both ankles
  • Lie face down on the floor with your legs extended and the band taut, resting on your forearms or flat with arms by your sides
  • Keep your hips pressed into the floor and your core lightly engaged throughout
  • Bend both knees simultaneously, curling your heels up toward your glutes against the band's resistance
  • Squeeze your hamstrings at the top of the curl
  • Slowly lower your feet back to the starting position, controlling the band's pull
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
