About this exercise

The resistance band kneeling high-to-low anti-rotation chop is a core exercise performed from a half-kneeling position. With the band anchored at a high point to the side, you pull it diagonally downward across the body while resisting rotation, targeting the obliques and deep core muscles.

How to Perform

  • Anchor the resistance band at a high point and kneel with the anchor point to one side
  • Adopt a half-kneeling position with the inside knee down and outside foot forward
  • Grip the band with both hands extended toward the anchor point at shoulder height
  • Brace your core and pull the band diagonally downward across your body toward your opposite hip
  • Keep your hips square and resist any trunk rotation throughout the movement
  • Slowly return the band back to the starting position under control
  • Complete all reps on one side, then switch sides
