About this exercise

The Resistance Band Kneeling Cross Body Single Straight Arm Supinated Pulldown is a unilateral lat exercise performed from a kneeling position. Kneeling removes the lower body from the equation and requires greater core stability while isolating the lat through a cross-body pulling arc with a supinated grip. The exercise effectively trains the lats, teres major, and biceps.

How to Perform

  • Anchor the resistance band to a fixed point high and to the opposite side of the working arm
  • Kneel on the floor facing the anchor point, with a tall, upright torso
  • Grip the band with a supinated (palm-up) grip, arm extended diagonally across your body toward the anchor
  • Keep your arm straight throughout the movement
  • Pull the band down and across your body in an arc until your hand reaches your hip on the working side
  • Squeeze the lat at the bottom and hold briefly
  • Return slowly to the starting position under control
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching
