About this exercise

A resistance-band chest press performed from a kneeling position, removing lower-body drive so the chest muscles must work in isolation. The kneeling stance also challenges core stability to keep the torso upright throughout the press.

How to Perform

  • Anchor a resistance band at roughly chest height behind you
  • Kneel facing away from the anchor, either on both knees or with one knee down and one foot forward for balance
  • Grip one end of the band in each hand at chest level with elbows bent and tucked
  • Brace your core and keep your torso tall and neutral
  • Press both hands forward until your arms are fully extended in front of you
  • Pause briefly at full extension
  • Slowly return your hands back to chest level, resisting the band's pull
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
