About this exercise

The Pallof Press is an anti-rotation core exercise using a resistance band anchored at chest height to the side. The band is held at chest level and pressed straight out horizontally, demanding the core to resist rotational forces throughout the movement.

How to Perform

  • Anchor a resistance band at chest height to a fixed point beside you
  • Stand perpendicular to the anchor, feet shoulder-width apart
  • Grip the band with both hands and hold it at chest level
  • Brace your core and keep your hips squared to the front
  • Press your hands straight out horizontally until your arms are fully extended
  • Hold briefly at full extension, resisting the rotational pull of the band
  • Slowly return your hands back to chest level
  • Complete all reps on one side, then switch sides
