About this exercise

A face pull variation performed in a half-kneeling position with a resistance band anchored at face height. It targets the rear deltoids, rotator cuff, and upper trapezius while the kneeling stance challenges core stability and reduces momentum from the lower body.

How to Perform

  • Anchor the resistance band at face height to a fixed point in front of you
  • Kneel on one knee with the opposite foot forward in a half-kneeling stance
  • Grip the band with both hands, arms extended toward the anchor point
  • Brace your core and keep your torso tall and upright
  • Pull the band toward your face, driving your elbows out and back
  • At the peak, externally rotate your shoulders so your hands are beside your ears
  • Pause briefly, then slowly return to the starting position
  • Complete all reps and switch the kneeling leg if desired
