About this exercise

The resistance band glute bridge is a hip-extension exercise performed lying on your back with a band placed across the hips. It effectively isolates the glutes while the band adds progressive resistance throughout the range of motion. It is an excellent movement for building posterior chain strength and improving hip stability.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart
  • Place a resistance band across your hips, anchoring each end under your hands beside your hips
  • Brace your core and press through your heels to lift your hips toward the ceiling
  • Squeeze your glutes at the top, forming a straight line from shoulders to knees
  • Pause briefly at the top, then lower your hips back to the floor under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
