About this exercise

The resistance band assisted front rack stretch uses a resistance band to mobilize the wrists, forearms, and front shoulder capsule into the front rack position required for cleans and front squats. The band provides traction that helps open tight structures around the wrist and elbow.

How to Perform

  • Anchor a resistance band at roughly shoulder height and loop it around your wrist
  • Step away from the anchor to create tension in the band
  • Rotate your elbow upward and forward so your upper arm is parallel to the floor, replicating the front rack position
  • Allow the band to pull your wrist gently toward the anchor, increasing traction in the wrist and forearm
  • Hold the stretch for the prescribed duration, breathing steadily
  • Slowly release and repeat on the other side
