About this exercise

The Rainbow Switching Toe Tap is a dynamic plyometric drill that combines lateral hopping with alternating toe taps, tracing an arc (rainbow) pattern as you switch sides. It builds lower-body power, agility, and coordination while elevating the heart rate.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet hip-width apart and knees slightly bent
  • Hop laterally to the right, landing on your right foot
  • Tap your left toe to the right side, sweeping it in a downward arc like a rainbow
  • Push off and immediately hop to the left, landing on your left foot
  • Tap your right toe to the left side in the same arcing motion
  • Continue alternating sides at a quick, controlled pace
  • Keep your core engaged and land softly on each hop
