About this exercise

A dynamic core exercise performed in the elbow plank position where both legs jump out and in like a horizontal jumping jack. Holding the forearm plank while moving the legs challenges the entire core under constant tension and elevates the heart rate for a conditioning effect.

How to Perform

  • Begin in a forearm plank position with elbows directly under your shoulders and body forming a straight line from head to heels
  • Brace your core, squeeze your glutes, and keep your hips level
  • Jump both feet out to the sides simultaneously, wider than hip-width
  • Immediately jump both feet back together to the starting position
  • Continue at a steady pace for the prescribed number of reps or duration, keeping your hips from rising or dropping throughout
