About this exercise

An elite-level calisthenics movement combining the planche lean with a dip on parallel bars. Maintaining a pronounced forward lean shifts the load heavily onto the lower chest and requires exceptional core tension throughout the entire range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Grip the parallel bars and press up to a locked-out support position
  • Lean your torso forward significantly so your shoulders are well in front of your hands
  • Keep your body rigid and your core fully braced to maintain the planche angle
  • Bend your elbows and lower your body under control, maintaining the forward lean
  • Descend until your upper arms are roughly parallel to the bars or slightly below
  • Press forcefully back up to the starting locked-out position
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
