About this exercise

The Pendulum Arms Side Leg Raise is a standing unilateral exercise that combines a lateral leg raise with a coordinated pendulum-like arm swing. The opposing arm movement challenges balance, hip stability, and shoulder mobility while the lateral leg raise targets the outer thigh and glutes.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Shift your weight onto one leg, keeping a slight bend in the standing knee
  • Swing both arms to the side opposite the raising leg as you lift the other leg out laterally
  • Raise the leg as high as comfortable while keeping your torso upright and hips level
  • Lower the leg and swing the arms back to the starting position in a controlled, pendulum rhythm
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching legs
