About this exercise

The Pelvic Tilt is a foundational mobility and core-activation exercise performed lying on your back. It gently strengthens the deep abdominal muscles and reduces excessive lumbar curve, making it a staple in lower-back rehabilitation and postural correction.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart
  • Place your arms at your sides and relax your upper body
  • Inhale to prepare, then exhale as you gently flatten your lower back against the floor by tightening your abdominals and tilting your pelvis upward
  • Hold the flattened position for 2–3 seconds while continuing to breathe
  • Slowly release and allow the natural curve of your lower back to return
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
