About this exercise

A standing plyometric move where you explosively drive one knee upward toward the chest, engaging the core and hip flexors while building cardiovascular conditioning. It is commonly used in HIIT circuits and martial arts warm-up routines to develop hip power and agility.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms bent at your sides
  • Shift your weight onto one foot and slightly bend the supporting knee
  • Explosively drive the opposite knee upward as high as you can toward your chest
  • Simultaneously pump the opposite arm forward for balance and rhythm
  • Lower the foot back to the floor under control and repeat on the same side or alternate legs
