About this exercise

The overhead and under knee clap is a dynamic coordination and cardio drill that combines an overhead clap with an alternating under-knee clap. It activates the core, improves coordination, and raises heart rate as part of a warm-up or conditioning routine.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and arms at your sides
  • Jump or step your feet together while raising both arms overhead and clapping
  • Immediately drive one knee up toward your chest and clap your hands beneath it
  • Lower your foot, then raise both arms overhead and clap again
  • Drive the opposite knee up and clap beneath it
  • Continue alternating knees at a steady, controlled pace
  • Keep your core braced and stay light on your feet throughout
