MediumCore

About this exercise

A single-leg balance drill in which you stand on one foot and reach the free leg out in multiple directions — forward, sideways, and diagonally behind — tracing a star pattern around your standing foot. It develops proprioception, ankle stability, and hip and glute control.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall on one foot with a slight bend in the supporting knee
  • Reach the free leg forward as far as comfortable, hovering the foot just above the floor, then return to center
  • Reach the free leg out to the side, then return to center
  • Reach the free leg diagonally behind and across, then return to center
  • Continue reaching in each direction of the star pattern for the prescribed reps or time
  • Keep your gaze fixed on a point ahead to help maintain balance
  • Complete all directions on one leg, then switch to the other
