About this exercise

A lateral plyometric drill hopping from side to side and landing on one leg at a time with the hands on the hips. Each landing absorbs and redirects the hop with a single leg, building lateral power, ankle stability and balance in the glutes and quadriceps.

How to Perform

  • Stand on one leg with your hands on your hips
  • Hop sideways and land on the other leg, letting the free foot hover
  • Absorb the landing with a soft knee, then hop back the other way
  • Keep your chest up and land quietly each time
  • Continue alternating sides for the desired time or repetitions
