About this exercise

A compound bodyweight exercise that combines alternating mountain-climber knee drives with a dynamic plank push-up transition, targeting the core, shoulders, and hip flexors while elevating the heart rate. The combination of movements challenges both muscular endurance and cardiovascular conditioning.

How to Perform

  • Begin in a high plank position with arms straight and hands directly under your shoulders
  • Perform several alternating mountain-climber reps by quickly driving each knee toward your chest in turn
  • After completing the mountain-climber reps, lower your forearms to the floor one at a time to reach a forearm plank
  • Press back up to a high plank one arm at a time to complete the dynamic plank component
  • Continue alternating between the mountain-climber phase and the dynamic plank transition for the prescribed reps or time
  • Keep your hips level and your core engaged throughout to prevent rocking
