About this exercise

How to Perform

  • Stand in an athletic stance holding a medicine ball or ready to receive one
  • Catch the ball as it comes toward you, absorbing momentum by bending the knees slightly
  • Bring the ball overhead in one fluid motion, fully extending the arms
  • Explosively throw the ball overhead toward your partner or target surface with maximum force
  • Re-engage your core and brace for the return catch
  • Repeat immediately upon catching the ball without pausing
