About this exercise

A lying spinal rotation and glute stretch performed on the floor by pulling a bent knee across the body toward the opposite side. The crossover movement creates a deep stretch through the outer hip, glute, and oblique muscles while keeping the shoulders flat.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with legs extended flat on the floor
  • Bend one knee and bring it toward your chest
  • Using the opposite hand, gently guide the bent knee across your body toward the floor on the other side
  • Keep your shoulders and upper back flat on the floor throughout the movement
  • Extend the arm on the same side as the bent leg out to the side for counterbalance
  • Hold the stretch, feeling the pull in the outer hip and glute of the bent leg
  • Slowly return to the starting position and switch sides
