About this exercise

Lying chin tucks are a neck mobility and postural correction exercise performed on your back. By retracting the chin without lifting the head, you strengthen the deep cervical flexors and reduce forward head posture.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back on a mat with your legs straight or knees bent and your head resting on the floor
  • Look straight up at the ceiling with your jaw relaxed
  • Without lifting your head, gently draw your chin straight back toward the floor, creating a slight double-chin appearance
  • Feel the gentle stretch along the back of the neck
  • Hold briefly at the end range, then release back to neutral
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
