About this exercise

A floor exercise performed lying face down in which you alternately kick each foot up toward the glutes by flexing the knee. The movement targets the hamstrings and glutes through a dynamic, rhythmic contraction, making it a useful warm-up or accessory drill for hip development.

How to Perform

  • Lie face down on the floor with your legs extended, arms folded under your forehead
  • Keep your hips pressed into the floor and engage your core lightly
  • Bend one knee, kicking that foot toward your glutes as high as comfortable
  • Squeeze the glute and hamstring at the top of the kick
  • Lower the leg back to the starting position in a controlled manner
  • Immediately repeat the kick with the opposite leg
  • Continue alternating legs with a smooth, controlled rhythm
