About this exercise

An abdominal isometric hold where you lie on your back and keep both legs lifted just six inches (15 cm) above the floor. The position creates intense tension in the lower abs while requiring the lower back to remain pressed flat against the ground.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with legs straight and arms at your sides or placed lightly under your lower back for support
  • Press your lower back firmly into the floor and brace your core
  • Lift both legs together until they are approximately 6 inches (15 cm) above the floor
  • Hold this position, breathing normally, without allowing your lower back to arch away from the floor
  • Lower your legs slowly to the floor when the set time is complete
