EasyHamstrings

About this exercise

A flowing mobility drill that transitions between a low lunge and a straight-leg hamstring stretch. The movement opens the hip flexors in the lunge phase and lengthens the hamstrings in the shift-back phase, making it ideal as a warm-up or cool-down for the lower body.

How to Perform

  • Start in a low lunge with your right foot forward, right knee bent at 90°, and your left knee resting on the floor
  • Place your hands on the floor on either side of your right foot for support
  • Slowly straighten your right leg, shifting your hips back toward your left heel, and flex your right foot
  • Feel the stretch along the back of your right thigh and hold for 2–3 seconds
  • Bend your right knee again to return to the low lunge position
  • Repeat the rocking motion for the desired reps, then switch legs
