About this exercise

A unilateral plate-loaded chest press performed on a lever machine, targeting the pectorals on one side at a time. Training each arm independently corrects strength imbalances and increases range of motion compared to bilateral pressing.

How to Perform

  • Load the appropriate weight plates onto the machine arm
  • Sit on the seat and adjust the backrest so the handle is at mid-chest height
  • Grip the single handle with one hand, elbow bent at approximately 90 degrees
  • Brace your core and plant your feet flat on the floor
  • Press the handle forward until your arm is nearly fully extended, without locking the elbow
  • Slowly return the handle to the starting position under control
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching to the other arm
