About this exercise

A unilateral leg press variation performed on a lever leg press machine, training one leg at a time to correct strength imbalances and increase the range of motion and muscle activation compared to the bilateral version.

How to Perform

  • Adjust the seat so your knee forms approximately a 90-degree angle when the foot pad is in the starting position
  • Place one foot flat on the press platform, positioning it at roughly hip width from center
  • Keep the other leg out of the way — you can rest it to the side
  • Release the safety handles and lower the platform by bending your knee toward your chest in a controlled manner
  • Press through your heel to extend the leg and push the platform back to the starting position
  • Do not lock out the knee fully at the top
  • Complete all reps on one leg before switching sides
