About this exercise

The Lever Seated Leg Curl (Plate Loaded) is a machine-based hamstring isolation exercise performed in a seated position on a plate-loaded lever machine. The seated angle places the hamstrings under tension at a lengthened position, maximizing muscle activation and hypertrophic stimulus.

How to Perform

  • Adjust the machine seat and leg pad so your knees align with the machine's pivot point
  • Sit upright and place your legs over the pad with the roller against the back of your lower legs
  • Grip the side handles and brace your core
  • Curl both legs downward by flexing at the knees, bringing the pad as far under the seat as possible
  • Squeeze your hamstrings at the bottom of the movement
  • Slowly return to the starting position in a controlled manner
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
