About this exercise

A unilateral lower-body exercise performed on a plate-loaded lever machine with the rear foot elevated, combining the stability demands of a Bulgarian split squat with the guided arc of a leverage machine. The plate-loaded design allows precise loading for this demanding single-leg movement.

How to Perform

  • Load the desired weight plates onto the machine and secure them
  • Stand facing the machine and position the rear foot pad behind you at an appropriate height
  • Place one foot on the rear foot pad with the top of the foot facing down
  • Position the front foot far enough forward so the front knee tracks over the toes when squatting
  • Grip the machine handles for stability and keep your torso upright
  • Brace your core and lower your hips straight down until the front thigh is parallel to the floor
  • Drive through the heel of the front foot to press back up to the starting position
  • Complete all reps on one leg before switching sides
