About this exercise

The lever triceps extension is a plate-loaded machine exercise that targets all three heads of the triceps through a controlled overhead or lying extension movement. The fixed lever arm guides the path of motion, making it easier to maintain proper form and achieve a full range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Load the desired weight plates onto the lever machine and adjust the seat or pad to your body size
  • Position yourself on the machine, grip the handles firmly, and set your upper arms perpendicular to the floor
  • Brace your core and keep your elbows pointed forward throughout the movement
  • Extend your forearms fully until your arms are straight, squeezing the triceps at the top
  • Slowly lower the handles back to the starting position under control, feeling the stretch in the triceps
  • Avoid flaring your elbows outward or using body momentum to complete the rep
