About this exercise

The outdoor lever seated lat pulldown is performed on a lever-based outdoor fitness machine where you pull an overhead bar or handles downward toward your chest while seated. It primarily targets the latissimus dorsi muscles, with secondary involvement of the biceps and upper trapezius, making it an effective pulling exercise for the back in an outdoor gym setting.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the outdoor lat pulldown machine and secure your legs under the pads if available
  • Grip the bar or handles with an overhand grip slightly wider than shoulder-width
  • Sit upright with your chest up and a slight lean back
  • Pull the bar or handles down toward your upper chest by driving your elbows down and back
  • Squeeze your lats at the bottom of the movement
  • Slowly return the bar upward under control until your arms are fully extended
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
