About this exercise

The Lever Lying T-bar Row is a machine-based back exercise where you lie face-down on the T-bar row machine pad and pull the loaded lever toward your chest. The prone position removes lower-back involvement and allows you to isolate the lats and rhomboids with strict form.

How to Perform

  • Set the desired weight on the T-bar row machine and adjust the chest pad so your torso is supported
  • Lie face-down on the pad with your chest against the support and your arms hanging to grip the handles
  • Retract your shoulder blades and pull the handles toward your lower chest by driving your elbows back
  • Squeeze your back muscles hard at the top of the movement
  • Slowly lower the weight back to the starting position with fully extended arms
  • Maintain a neutral neck position and keep your core engaged throughout each rep
