About this exercise

A plate-loaded chest press machine exercise performed in a lying position, targeting the middle chest with secondary emphasis on the triceps and front deltoids. The plate-loaded lever design allows for a natural pressing arc and progressive overloading.

How to Perform

  • Load the appropriate weight plates onto the machine and lie back on the pad with your head supported
  • Grip the handles at chest level with an overhand grip, keeping your wrists straight
  • Plant your feet flat on the floor or the machine's footrests to stabilize the body
  • Press the handles upward and forward in a slight arc until your arms are nearly extended
  • Squeeze the chest at the top of the movement without fully locking out the elbows
  • Lower the handles back slowly to the starting position under full control
