About this exercise

The lever glute press is a machine-based hip extension exercise that isolates the glutes through a controlled pressing movement. The machine guides the movement pattern, making it accessible for all levels while allowing significant loading of the gluteal muscles with reduced lower-back stress.

How to Perform

  • Adjust the machine seat and pad positions so the hip pad sits comfortably across your hips when seated or positioned correctly
  • Place your feet on the foot platform and grip the handles for stability
  • Brace your core and press your hips forward by driving through your glutes
  • Extend fully at the top without hyperextending your lower back
  • Pause briefly at the top to maximize glute contraction
  • Return slowly to the starting position under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
