About this exercise

The lever bent over low row is a plate-loaded machine exercise that targets the latissimus dorsi with a low, horizontal pulling angle. The supported bent-over position allows you to focus on maximum lat engagement without fatiguing the lower back.

How to Perform

  • Load the machine and adjust the chest pad or handle height to suit your torso length
  • Grip the handles and hinge forward to the designated bent-over position, maintaining a neutral spine
  • Retract your shoulder blades slightly before initiating the pull
  • Drive your elbows back and down, pulling the handles toward your lower torso
  • Squeeze your lats at the top of the movement and pause briefly
  • Return the handles under control to the starting position, allowing a full stretch at the bottom
  • Keep your chest up and avoid rounding your lower back throughout
