About this exercise

A machine-supported abdominal exercise in which you brace yourself on a lever apparatus and raise both legs, isolating the lower abs and hip flexors with controlled resistance. The machine stabilises the upper body so the abdominal muscles can work without compensating movements from the arms or shoulders.

How to Perform

  • Set up on the lever machine with your back against the pad and forearms resting on the arm supports
  • Grip the handles and allow your legs to hang freely beneath you
  • Brace your core and curl your pelvis slightly forward as you raise both legs toward your chest
  • Pause briefly at the top when your hips are fully flexed
  • Lower your legs back down in a slow, controlled manner, resisting gravity
  • Avoid swinging your legs — initiate each rep from the abs, not from momentum
