About this exercise

A bodyweight ab exercise that pairs a straight-leg raise with a lateral oblique crunch, targeting both the lower abs and the obliques in one fluid movement. Lying on your back, you raise the legs and simultaneously crunch one elbow toward your knees for a rotational challenge.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with your legs straight and your hands lightly behind your head
  • Press your lower back into the floor and engage your core
  • Raise both legs to about 45–90 degrees while keeping them straight
  • As you raise your legs, crunch your upper body and rotate one elbow toward your knees
  • Hold the contracted position for a brief moment
  • Lower your legs and upper body back to the floor in a controlled manner
  • Alternate the elbow rotation each rep, or complete all reps to one side before switching
