About this exercise

A dynamic plank variation in which you alternately drive each knee toward your chest from a front plank position. The movement intensifies core activation by adding hip flexion to the isometric stabilization challenge of a standard plank.

How to Perform

  • Start in a forearm plank position with elbows directly under your shoulders and body forming a straight line
  • Brace your core, squeeze your glutes, and keep your hips level throughout
  • Drive your right knee toward your chest by flexing the hip, keeping your back flat
  • Hold briefly at the top, then return the right foot to the floor
  • Immediately drive your left knee toward your chest in the same manner
  • Continue alternating legs at a controlled pace for the desired number of repetitions
