About this exercise

The Leg Front Lift Jack combines a jumping jack motion with alternating front leg lifts to elevate heart rate and work the hip flexors and legs. It is a plyometric cardio drill that challenges coordination, balance, and lower body endurance.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Jump both feet apart to a wide stance while raising both arms overhead — as in a jumping jack
  • As you jump feet back together, lift one knee up in front to hip level
  • Land softly on the standing leg, maintaining a slight bend in the knee
  • Repeat the jack motion and alternate the front leg lift each time
  • Keep your core braced and your chest upright throughout
  • Continue at a steady, controlled pace for the desired duration
