About this exercise

The Leg Extension Star Crunch is a floor abdominal exercise that combines a crunch with a simultaneous outward leg extension, creating a star shape at the top of the movement. It challenges the entire core by requiring both spinal flexion and hip control at the same time.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with your arms overhead and your legs extended straight out
  • In one motion, crunch your torso up and open both arms and legs out wide into a star shape
  • Reach your hands toward your feet at the top of the movement
  • Slowly lower your arms, torso, and legs back to the starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
