About this exercise

The Landmine Standing Side Bend uses one end of a barbell secured in a landmine attachment to provide a natural arc of resistance for lateral flexion. It effectively isolates the obliques with a controlled, joint-friendly range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Secure a barbell in a landmine attachment and stand beside the free end
  • Hold the barbell end with the hand closest to it, arm extended down at your side
  • Stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart and a slight bend in the knees
  • Keeping your hips square, bend sideways away from the barbell, lowering it toward the floor
  • Squeeze your oblique on the working side to pull yourself back to the upright position
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching to the other
