About this exercise

A unilateral hip hinge performed with a landmine-mounted barbell, training the hamstrings and glutes of one leg at a time. The angled arc of the landmine provides a joint-friendly loading path and demands significant hip stability and balance from the working leg.

How to Perform

  • Secure a barbell in a landmine attachment and stand facing the pivot point, gripping the free end of the bar with both hands at hip height
  • Shift your weight onto one foot and slightly soften the knee of the standing leg
  • Hinge at the hip, pushing it back as you lower the bar along its arc and extend the non-working leg straight behind you for counterbalance
  • Keep your back flat and spine neutral throughout the descent
  • Drive through the heel of the standing leg to extend the hip and return to upright
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching legs
