Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Landmine Shoulder Press (Viking Press Attachment).

MediumFront shoulders

About this exercise

A shoulder press variation using a landmine setup with a Viking press attachment, creating a semi-arched pressing path that is easier on the shoulder joint than a strict overhead press. The bilateral handles allow both arms to press simultaneously while the arc keeps tension on the front deltoids throughout the movement.

How to Perform

  • Anchor a barbell in a landmine attachment and fit the Viking press handle onto the sleeve
  • Stand facing the attachment with feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent
  • Grip both handles with palms facing each other at upper-chest to shoulder height
  • Brace your core, keep your back flat, and maintain a neutral spine
  • Press the handles upward and forward along the arc of the barbell until your arms are nearly extended
  • Squeeze your shoulders at the top of the movement
  • Slowly lower the handles back to shoulder height under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
