Landmine Kneeling One Arm Shoulder Press

Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Landmine Kneeling One Arm Shoulder Press.

MediumFront shoulders

About this exercise

A unilateral overhead press performed from a kneeling position using the landmine setup. The angled pressing path is more shoulder-friendly than a strict overhead press, and the kneeling stance challenges core stability and eliminates leg drive.

How to Perform

  • Secure a barbell in a landmine attachment and load the free end to the desired weight
  • Kneel on both knees facing the landmine, with your torso upright and core braced
  • Hold the end of the barbell with one hand at shoulder height, elbow pointing forward and slightly out
  • Press the bar upward and forward along its natural arc until your arm is nearly fully extended
  • Pause briefly at the top, maintaining an upright torso
  • Lower the bar back to shoulder height in a controlled manner
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching arms
