Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Landmine Floor One Arm Chest Fly.

About this exercise

A unilateral chest fly performed lying on the floor with a landmine barbell. One arm sweeps the bar in a wide arc from the side of the body to the chest midline, and the floor naturally limits the range of motion to a safe angle. The landmine's arc closely mimics a cable fly's constant tension curve.

How to Perform

  • Secure a barbell in a landmine attachment and lie on your back on the floor, perpendicular to the pivot point
  • Grasp the free end of the bar with one hand and extend that arm out to the side, close to floor level, with a slight bend in the elbow
  • Keeping the elbow angle fixed, sweep the bar in an arc up and across your body toward the midline of your chest
  • Squeeze the chest at the top of the movement when the bar is directly above the sternum
  • Slowly lower the bar back along the arc to the starting position under control
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching arms
