About this exercise

A beginner-friendly push-up variation performed standing against a wall on your knuckles. The wall angle reduces load compared to a floor push-up, while the knuckle grip keeps the wrists in a neutral position and engages the forearms.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing a wall, about arm's length away, feet shoulder-width apart
  • Place both fists (knuckles) on the wall at chest height, shoulder-width apart
  • Lean your body toward the wall in a straight line from head to heels
  • Bend your elbows to lower your chest toward the wall, keeping your body rigid
  • Push through your knuckles to extend your arms and return to the starting position
  • Keep your core engaged and avoid letting your hips sag or pike throughout the movement
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
