About this exercise

A kneeling stretch that targets the hamstrings and calves by extending one leg forward with the toes pointing up while resting on the opposite knee. The toe-up position adds a light calf stretch alongside the primary hamstring lengthening.

How to Perform

  • Begin in a half-kneeling position with one knee on the floor and the other leg extended straight in front of you
  • Point the toes of the extended leg upward toward the ceiling, keeping the heel on the floor
  • Sit back slightly on your rear heel to increase the stretch
  • Keep your back straight and hinge gently forward at the hips, reaching toward your extended foot
  • Hold the stretch, feeling the pull along the back of the extended leg
  • Return to the starting position and switch sides
