About this exercise

The kneeling rotational push-up combines a chest press with a trunk rotation, adding an anti-rotation challenge to a standard kneeling push-up. At the top of each rep, you rotate your torso and extend one arm toward the ceiling, engaging the obliques and improving thoracic mobility.

How to Perform

  • Start in a kneeling push-up position with hands shoulder-width apart and knees on the floor
  • Lower your chest toward the floor by bending your elbows
  • Press back up to the starting position
  • At the top, rotate your torso and raise one arm straight up toward the ceiling
  • Hold the rotated position briefly, then bring the arm back down
  • Perform the next rep and rotate to the opposite side
