About this exercise

A hip mobility drill performed on all fours where you trace a slow, controlled half-circle arc with one leg to loosen the hip joint and improve range of motion in the glutes and outer hip. It is a gentle yet effective warm-up or cool-down movement.

How to Perform

  • Start on all fours with wrists under shoulders and knees under hips
  • Brace your core and keep your back flat throughout the movement
  • Lift one knee off the floor and begin sweeping it out to the side
  • Continue the arc, bringing the knee forward to the front
  • Reverse the motion, sweeping the knee back along the same half-circle arc
  • Move slowly and with control, emphasizing hip range of motion
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching to the other leg
