About this exercise

A gentle front-body stretch performed kneeling: from an upright kneel you place the hands on the floor behind you and lean back, opening the chest, abs and hip flexors while the head relaxes back.

How to Perform

  • Kneel upright with your shins on the floor and your knees hip-width apart
  • Place your hands on the floor behind you, fingertips pointing away from your body
  • Lean your torso back onto your hands and push your hips gently forward
  • Let your head relax back and open your chest toward the ceiling
  • Hold the stretch, breathing deeply into your abdomen
  • Engage your core to return upright
