About this exercise

The Kneeling Finger Push-Up is a push-up variation performed on the fingertips from the knees, simultaneously developing chest, shoulder, and triceps strength while building significant finger and forearm resilience. The kneeling position reduces the load compared to a full finger push-up, making it a useful progression exercise.

How to Perform

  • Begin on all fours and lower your knees to the floor, forming a straight line from knees to head
  • Place your hands on the floor with only your fingertips touching the ground, fingers spread
  • Keep your elbows at roughly 45 degrees from your torso
  • Lower your chest toward the floor in a controlled manner while keeping your fingertips firmly planted
  • Press through your fingertips to push your body back to the starting position
  • Maintain a tight core and avoid letting your hips sag throughout
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
